Got an offer from a non FAANG well known firm and am waiting to hear back after Microsoft onsite. Had told Microsoft about the competing offer ~3 weeks back, they refused to schedule the onsite rounds to an earlier time and after onsite have been waiting for ~10 days to hear from them. I have followed up with the recruiter 2-3 times and have been told that the hiring team hasn’t told them. It’s not the recruiter’s fault, I am not blaming them. I am also cognizant of the fact that due to the pandemic timelines can get skewed, but this seems to be stretching more than it is needed. Has anyone had a similar experience? What did you do in this case? #tech #recruiting #offers YoE : 2 Worked at Microsoft earlier for less than a year, left for grad school
Just curious, why are you interested in joining back MS?
since I enjoyed working there earlier, also met a bunch of great teammates. If you left MS will you try to join back?
Certainly agree about the teammates part. But the work is pretty avg and I am thinking of leaving right after my finishing my first year. Feel I am not developing any transferable skills here
same for me
The hiring team should have gotten back to you in a week. They’re either on the fence or reviewing other candidates. It’s your call to accept the offer in hand and change your mind if you get a Msft offer. At the end of the day the only person you’re accountable to is you. Look out for yourself first. There’s no such thing as corporate loyalty.
Almost similar case for mine.. worked at Microsoft earlier.. after onsite waited for two weeks for Microsoft decision.. The recruiter kept delaying.. I had to call twice.. and finally he said it was not a good news 😕
