Hi all, Got 2 offers for Software Engineering: 1) Microsoft, Hybrid - Atlanta L64, 275k TC 2) Cloudflare, Full Remote L4, 250k TC 7 YOE Which one would you go with? #microsoft #cloudflare
Cloudfare Da Bomb . Your TC could become 4X to reach a million in couplea years
Can you elaborate please? Shares value increase?
They are one of the unique companies who have consistently posted 40%+ growth last few years .
275k for L64 duties? Hell nah! Atlanta traffic will make commuting rough. Maybe ask for 350k to make it worth it.
350K in this economy in Atlanta? Lmao
350k is average senior tc at good tech corps. Google L5 for instance, or LinkedIn Staff (which is senior elsewhere) could fetch 400k before market crash. Even now Google pays 350k+ for L5
Does CF adjust salary based on location ?
Yeah they do
How was the cloudflare interview? Didn’t know they paid over $200k
It was relatively easy
Full Remote
Full remote always wins. Who wanna live in Atlanta
Is Cloudflare L4 considered mid level or Sr?
It’s considered Sr.
Cloudflare offer split?
Microsoft. 3+ years at both. Equity _could_ grow a bunch at Cloudflare, but a bunch of management needs to be cleared out. Microsoft is more stable company. At CF you're very likely to pay a big tax bill on a vest and turn around and have it worth nothing by the time you can sell anything. CEO at MSFT is admirable, CEO at Cloudflare is an egomaniac.
Isn’t CF vesting schedule the same as Microsoft?
Yes

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
What'd your YOE?
7 YOE
L64 (and L63) is senior, next 3 levels is principal (L65, 66, 67 - - their version of staff) . Microsoft work is highly dependent on group and manager. That being said, 275 in atl is pretty good. I don't know much about Cloud flare, but Microsoft is pretty solid
