Are there layoffs happening at NVIDIA? It seems like my NVIDIA recruiter was laid off or otherwise abruptly exited the company. I was never notified, had to learn from an undeliverable bounceback to an email I sent, and now I'm in a long email chain searching for an update about the result of an on-site from about two weeks ago.
Recruiters are probably one of the first to go if there’s a hiring freeze or slowdown
That would certainly make sense.
Mind blown
I have a recruiter asking if I'm interested in joining them... In Taiwan. I guess the salary is about 1/10 of the US wage over there. Maybe they are making shifts to LCOL area.
It seems my NV recruiter also laid off, email bounceback and the hiring process paused, The full interview process took 3 months :(
3 months??? How could you let this process draw out for a quarter of a year?
Same experience here. Three months.
They ended the contracts early for a number of contract recruiters and coordinators. I was just reassigned a new recruiter for my vp’s team. Doesn’t seem like any employees were impacted according to them.
They are next
Many of recruiters are contractors, and when hiring is frozen or paused, they are usually let go first.
The prospective verbal offers are also being rescinded. If they haven't give you a written offer, then there is no offer on the table. #livingtheexperience
Nvidia does this every couple of years if not every year. We slow down or pause hiring. But FTE are never affected by it.
I got the same problem last week. I called the front desk and explained the problem. I got an email from HR the next day for scheduling an interview.
