Hi folks! I would appreciate if some one can refer me to a senior/staff/principal level product design roles. This is my third month searching for a role after I was laid off due to the Broadcom acquisition. I have 13 years of UX experience.
That sucks. DM me. 12 YOE here. I've been looking 6 months and I'm just now getting a bunch of interest. No offers yet but several places starting the process. Once I have somewhere hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks I'll def refer people who are looking to other roles I passed on (if it happens that way lol). But I have a ton of connections, recruiter direct emails, good slack channels to join, etc. Also happy to look over your resume or portfolio if you like ๐
You are so nice, jb345too! Please keep being kind and helping the design community and paying it forward!
Happy to do it. Job hunting sucks and this is the toughest job search period I, and many others just as qualified or more so, have ever experienced. You or anyone else is welcome to DM me too. I don't have the Midas touch but I've definitely developed a good collection of resources and contacts.
If you're open to startups in the interim, tons of early companies are hiring founding designers with lots of experience. Just look for a startup doing something in the same domain as your work with VMWare. I'm more junior and keep getting passed up for those roles in favor of principal-level designers with 10+ YOE.
This is a good suggestion and true. I've had quite a bit of interest from startups. You can search by company size on LinkedIn but you can also go places like Wellfound and ycombinator. There are more places if you Google but those are a couple of the best resources.
