Planning to change my work to home commute from a walk ( 1.5 miles ) to a run. Not sure how to carry my huge purse & formal clothes while I run ... Want to know what some beat hacks female runners use ?
Get a running backpack. If you have an REI, go there and try a few on. Osprey makes some good ones. In addition, if there’s a way to leave some stuff at work, it’s easier. Shoes, a second set of makeup, non-commute-related purse items, etc.

Running long distances like that can cause your body to lose nutrients. Make sure to fuel up with a protein shake before run. I recommend 3 bananas, 6 egg whites, 2 scoops of Serious Mass from Optimum Nutrition. Heels are useful in maintaining proper form. If you can’t manage at least 8”, what’s the point? At least that’s what my wife said. In terms of workout gear lululemon is the best. 90% of women who buy yoga pants aren’t doing yoga. 100% of men are fine with that. To lose extra calories, you can put weights in your backpack. Start with an extra 25 lb plate, and work your way up from there. Carrying pink dumb-bells in your arms is also useful, since you can multi-task bicep curls while you run home Good luck!

Work doesn’t have showers buddy
Not a woman, but I used to bike to work a lot (don’t anymore due to injury) and do run regularly. Do not carry stuff with you, leave what you can in the office (laptop, shoes, clothes etc). Running with things is uncomfortable. Maybe drive once in a while to restock clean clothes etc.
Yeah I don’t like running with stuff either ... but I want to use the 20-30 mins of my walk from work to home into a more intensive exercise
You can buy ankle weights and still walk.
