L7, 465k TC, recruiter said it’s the best they can do. It’s lower than what I currently make - how do I get more?
Don't go to Amazon
This
+1
Which role ? Principal Engineer ? And which city ?
You dont.
If it is less than what you currently making then what is the point of the move?
Why amazon from FB? What level at FB? If they won’t budge based upon current TC, how would competitors offer help?
This is likely PM. You won't get more. L7 dev or SDM can easily get 600K Total compensation, and even more.
BS. L7 SDE offers are $500k ish. Don’t believe blind numbers
I'm talking about my own offer. But what would I know about my own TC!
Are they ready to issue an offer (interviews are done)?
Then what else should we ask or discuss here? We are living in the first world country so I guess this is natural?
Yes, first world problem. We're in the first world fucko.
What a prick
Competing offers
I don't get this. I get it if you're not currently working, but all a competing offer is, is a way of convincingly saying "I won't accept unless you raise the price". Why isn't earning more in your current position equivalently convincing?
I don't get it either, but it's probably to account for possible title/comp inflation at the current company
