Negotiate current salary at Amazon

You shld fight for it. You can speak to manager to standardise your salary.
The salary is standard for an sde 1. It is right in the middle of it. May be on the higher side. As sde 1 ranges between 17 to 22/23
So manager might not entertain. But yes it will depend on your rating but it will go up to a certain degree only.
I mean promotion and then standardise.
Promotion will automatically mqke OP's tc more than 35 at least
Thank you all for the response. I see SDE-2s in my team with 2 YOE who contribute a fraction of what I am contributing. They were college hires, and younger than me by 2 years but still are SDE 2. Whereas I was lateral hire as SDE 1(dont know on what basis). Given that that I am consistently contributing at SDE 2 level(more than current SDE 2s), do I have a chance of negotiating with my manager on the compensation inequality.I understand that I am on path for promo, but its like I should have been working for SDE3 promo, whereas they are making me go through the entire SDE 1 cycle.
Compensation equality will only be applicable for your band. For sde2 level compensation you would have to get promoted. I know it sucks! But again, as an sde1 they will not be able to pay you at par with sde 2. As a lateral hire sde1, your pay should be more than 50 percent of the band at least. If that is happening, then it will be difficult in negotiating a pay increase. What you can ask for is expediting ypur promo process based on the tangible factors that you have just counted here.
Did you give sde 2 loop or an sde 1 loop? While interviewing for Amazon?
At 4 yoe you are better off switching companies than fighting for raise as sde1. At best you will get 23-24 lakhs. No way you will get sde 2 pay as sde1.
Renegotiating your salary is nearly impossible. I know a few coworkers who have tried and failed. Your only option is to get promoted or just try to get substantial raises. If that won't work, then you'll have to look elsewhere

for the TC
You should be able to crack SDE 2 loop now at other companies. Amazon wont match the offer for SDE 2. If TC is important for you then jump ship otherwise try to fast track promo. You can search blind for dive and save.
