At what Net Worth would you settle down to a long term job and stop chasing promotions or switching employers to maximize TC? Assume you are living in a HCOL area. #personalfinance
Unless you're at Albertsons, you'll always be looking up wanting more.
Roblox: At least we don’t host pedophile content on platform and then try to hide that fact from public
Roblox is that true?
I am only planning to live till about 35yo, so $1-2M is plenty for me
This is very sad. Why do you think you will not live beyond 35? Do you have terminal cancer or something?
Definitely don’t need 1-2M to live to 35. Each year you work reduces the amount you need. At 30 that would be 200-400k in spending not including any appreciation.
A big problem is also that this doesn't account for inflation. 2-3 years ago I would've said around 3-4m. Now probably 5-7m
Mo money, more problems It is a moving target. When I was NW: $200K , I thought $2M would be plenty Now I'm NW: $2.5M and think that I need $5M - $6M to be "good"
And when you are at 5M, you think you need 8M to be good.
Google, what's your age/yoe?
20M
100M
You can’t live for less than 10M in HCOL…
No less than 3M, but 5 would be more sensible
Is it combined net worth with your partner? I think if you are single, you can retire comfortably with 500k to 1M
It depends on your age and lifestyle.
