I recently joined Walmart Global Tech full time (fresh from college). I am facing some troubles: - I joined a month ago. My manager contacted me a month later. Until then I didn't heard anything from him/her. - I messaged my manager / other team members (multiple times) via slack/email but nobody replies. - I am spending most of my time reading confluence (exploring on my own) - nobody has shared any onboarding resources with me. - I understand that the manager must be busy with so many meetings, but there should be atleast some communication. - I feel bad for not making any progress. Please share your thoughts, and how i can tackle this. #help #layoffs #tech #walmart #newhire

Set up ācoffee chatsā (15-30 min) with peers on your team to get their pov on how to navigate and what works best with this leader.
This. I also joined Walmart global tech as my first swe job and had the same experience. Setting up chats with peers was the only way to get guidance
Try to setup meetings with colleagues and managers and understand from them what they're working on. After meetings, identify a senior productive team member and start working on project/bugs to help their project instead of starting something new on your own. This will lead to faster onboarding for you, people won't ignore/shoot down your ideas since it will have backing of senior engineer and you'll be confident that you're working on some important okr instead of wandering aimlessly.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Theyāre taking āself-starterā in the job description to the next level. If no oneās responding to your outreach, thereās not too much you can do beyond scouring self-help resources, as youāre doing now. I obviously donāt have the context surrounding how youāre interacting, but maybe ask to shadow someone on your team or send them a quick 15 min intro chat. Once thereās a relationship established there, they should be more willing to help (I mean, they should want to help a new teammate anyways, but maybe they just need added incentive)
