White male privilege is real
I have an offer from Google for L4. Had one round of negotiation and did not see any major raise as I don’t have any competing offers. Have a discussion with the recruiter tomorrow to discuss the comp again. How should I buy time from recruiter so I can attend other interviews and get a competing offer. G - 31L/80k USD/15% (Prev - 30/70k/15) Current - 28L/45k USD/10% Yoe:6.5
Level at MS and YOE?
Be honest and tell recruiter you are expecting offer from Uber and would like to wait before discussing further. Also see if you can hasten other interviews. Don't negotiate any further now. Ask recruiter to either put his best offer or wait.
Don't let the recruiter pressure/guilt/shit talk you into accepting the offer. They try many dirty tricks
Also, Join LinkedIn instead of Google of you have any plans to move abroad. LinkedIn will pay you fairly, Google will not
Did you previously / currently work at LinkedIn ? I am a new joiner at LinkedIn How easy is it to move abroad ?
Why won't G pay you fairly. G has refresh linkedin doesn't If you plan to move abroad G makes more sense
What's your YOE?
Ask to speak to the hiring team for role clarity. Buys time.
Yoe ?

Are you 61 or 62 at MS?
Google offer is not 31. Google pays EPF contribution over and above the base salary they have mentioned. So factor that in. Easily another 1.5 or 2 lacs.
Don't most companies do that? Apple does it
MSFT doesn't. So if OP's current base is 28L, that includes employee+employer EPF contribution.
What's 31? What currency is this?
Sorry! This is for India. Will update the post
Uber offer will be superior afaik. My suggestion is to get competing offers and tell recruiter that you'd want to evaluate all those offers before signing. Do that before they generate offer letter. Also, what's your year of experience? If that's greater than 6, you might get L5a at Uber but Google will still give you L4.
