First post! Currently a Health and Welfare Consultant with TC 100k with a global broker got an offer with a health startup for 90k with stipends on office and internet, corp cc, equity and 100% remote with traveling too good to be true?
Doesn’t seem like it is better? Unless you are really going for a remote role? Ask them to at least match base. Usually you ask for 20% higher
I asked for the 20% hike but they came back with this offer. I’ll probably go back and renegotiate.
Are you getting more or less responsiblity than now? If more, you absolutely deserve more. Big question- do they know your current TC? If you told them- you're boned. If you haven't- Tell them you're making 110 right now and taking a 20k pay cut. You would be happy with 100k, it's less of a hit for the convenience of wfh.
I wouldn’t let you negotiate my next salary 😂
That's too good to be true?
They offered you a 10% pay cut and you think it is too good to be true??? I think the offer is not great. If they don’t offer you 100k TC, just reject.
100% remote is awesome. Some people trade money for work life balance and more time with their family. I'm making about 20% less than I should because I prefer the low stress, freedom and flexibility of my current job. Money isn't everything. Not even close.
Traveling is not a perk. After the first month it will get old. You will feel tired and worn out. Also this is crappy offer if you are SWE
It depends on how constant and where it is. You can have a lot of fun traveling, accruing miles, points and eating and drinking on someone else’s dime.
The problem with traveling for work is you usually travel to places you don't care to go, the same place repeatedly, or you never have time to leave the office and enjoy the local life on the road. It sounds glamorous at first, but if any of these scenarios too often or all 3 at once it gets old fast. But yes the points, food, and per diem are always nice. If OP travels enough and does it right he could make money off those, true.
I think user distribution for blind has changed from everyone saying I have 400k to a more believable TC base
This is a shitty offer
Lmaoo idk what op is smoking
Unless you are looking for travel and remote.... or hate your current job... this is a 10k step backwards. At least go back and negotiate to current TC if not more. Then seriously consider.
I thought it’s a 500k offer when I saw the title
Current TC? Location?
100k / Texas
So the new offer is less than your current TC and you think that is too good to be true?
