Hi team, I am currently trying to get up to speed with C++ by spending my time off the work contributing to some of the open source C++ projects picked up from talks like CppCon and various blogs. My short term career goal is to end up at those HFTs or prop shops in a year or two. I am wondering if anyone from HFTs can share what C++ libs or open source projects they commonly use at work. Any suggestions on focus areas that could helpful in the application would be great. Any ideas if this is right path to actually develop goof enough C++ skills for HFTs. Thanks in advance for your advice. Tc: 190k after stock drop #engineering #swe #swe #imc #deshaw #optiver #jumptrading
It’s C but they probably use dpdk
I also wish to start contributing to open source projects in C++. OP, do you have any suggestions on which ones would be good for a beginner?
The same boat, I am looking for a project too. Have you ever checked envoy(https://github.com/envoyproxy/envoy )?
Haven't checked it out yet, will take a look, thanks

Check out this repo https://github.com/profitviews/heisenberg (I'm a beginner myself)
Thanks everyone for sharing the info so far but I think either I asked the question in the too broad form or nobody really knows.
My understanding is that generally HFTs want to build their whole tech stack from the bottom up to optimize latency, so there are not a ton of such libraries used. But that’s not really the area I work in at my firm so can’t say for sure.
