Came across couple of roles at Cerner and Oracle where I can be good fit but as you click on the role it straight away says not eligible for visa/work permit On one hand its good company is clear but on other hand it sucks that 187 open roles that I filtered , checked all but nil have sponsorships available (although i am interested in a couple 4-5) So here's my Friday progress update Tc 110 Yoe 2
Not many companies are accepting the candidates who require immigration support. Few are publishing but many aren’t publishing.
Problem is if companies like Oracle can't sponsor, will will happen to small/medium size companies
Sometimes these postings on company job portal are only to support Perm application for someone already working on H1b. Rarely an offer will be made to a candidate!
One of my friend who is UMass grad got into Oracle last month. He required sponsorship, maybe his role demanded. He's into cloud, sre
Some universities partner with companies to offer sponsorships graduating from particular school, that can be a case
Cerner is it's own entity. Their pay was bad before merger so I am not surprised to hear they don't wanna spend on sponsorships. Oracle definitely sponsors h1b, if they paused it's temporary. I got an offer from Oracle 3 years ago with h1b. Passed for an offer at a more favorable location.
You arent legally allowed to sponsor after layoffs of certain sizes
Can you please share the career site's link?
Is this a SWE role? H1B sponsorships should be available for those, but for other roles like data analyst/business analyst, it's almost always a no, but my sister got sponsored by a smaller company for a data analyst role.
SWE
Depends on the role, this is not SWE.
Totally ootl. How much is a sponsorship?
Well I am willing to Pay upto 10k for lawyers and all visa work if a company can sponsor , just need to get out of my current position
Do you already have the H1B or are you on another visa?
