Hi, I have received an offer from OCI for ic3 swe role. I just got an offer from meta for the new grad swe role. Oracle is offering a TC of 204k. Not sure about TC at meta, they haven’t given the numbers yet. I’m a bit confused about what to go forward with. Here is what I am thinking: Meta pros: Great comp and perks, dynamic work and great learning opportunities Meta cons: scared about layoffs Oracle pros: oci is growing, as can be seen by the stock, good learning Oracle cons: comp not comparable to meta, slow growth Can the swe community please put forward their views? Very sorry if I missed any details! Thanks! Edit 1: I have 2 years of experience as a SWE, 1 year out of that in AWS. #swe #meta #oraclecloud
I'd go Meta. Meta signing bonus will prolly make up the TC difference. Plus better brand name and growth.
Thanks!
As someone in OCI, I'd not recommend it. Most teams are ops heavy and I agree with the above comment about people not being too motivated and lower density of smart people. The stock growth over the last 2 years is the only positive in my opinion.
Thanks!
Isn't oci IC3 more like a senior software engineer role? I know IC3 at nvidia was senior software engineer. Can someone from oci confirm?
Yes, IC3 is a senior software engineer role. E3 is the new grad role at meta. I have 2 years of exp, I was eligible for the new grad role because I pursued a Masters degree after 2 years of exp
Meta without a thought. Definitely at this stage of your career
Thanks!
That’s Oracle, not OCI for sure. We’re reinventing the clouds - one certainly cannot do it with old stack and low talent
Meta for sure, dm for questions

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
You do not want to go to OCI at all…..
Thanks for the response. Why is that so?
Old stack, (generally) unmotivated peers, lack of innovation, lower density of smart people, etc… Meta has a lot of team and a lot of different areas to make impact. Especially if you want to venture into compiler, distributed system, AR, or other things. You can do Full Stack at OCI, sure, but Meta offers far more possibilities.
