Hi, I see lot of people leaving MSFT. With the current market environment, higher inflation and now hiring freezes happening. Which campanies are safer than MSFT with higher pay? All IPO have been crushed like anything too.
Any of the Google/Apple/Meta is recession proof IMO. They have enough cash to navigate the recession easily.
If your worry is stock collapse, than Netflix is the only one I know that pays top TC all cash. But they are not recession proof, if business starts to go south, they don’t have the business diversity to hold and may incur in layoff
I see. So basically jumping off the boat and covering the stock losses in the jump as a part of sign on?
Apple, aws if you can survive pip, Meta is probably okay if working on core products
Anyone at Microsoft who is well integrated in their team and liked by their management should stay put until the market shakes out. It is one of the safer places to ride out a recession.

My partner got through the 2000 and 2008 recessions at Microsoft. It did have a layoff in 2009, but very small percentage relative to size.
Stay put at Microsoft
We will likely have cuts next year since it's good excuse. We def don't need to but wall street
Culture is amazing 🤩 Pay is average but in the top 10% bracket. Only concern is coding in windows and not much interesting work.

Not all can get in GOOGL. Google is not safe from stock collapse. Further, new team, downgrade, new manager etc.
Significant risk at Google. Outside of Search and maybe Android, most businesses lose money. The other Alphabet companies (Waymo, Verily, etc) lose huge amounts of money
