I’m in the L4 offer stage with Pinterest right now and am going to be discussing numbers with the recruiter soon. I’ve checked levels.fyi, but I’ve seen the threads on Pinterest’s new comp policy app I’m not sure what to believe so I’m asking here. What is a good L4 offer for VHCOL? Is 350k TC a reasonable ask? Otherwise, what is the top end of the L4 band? Thanks! YOE: 4 TC: 270k #tech #pinterest #offer
How long were you in the team matching phase?
I recently got an offer from them around(slightly higher than) what you are asking for the first year, for e4. I am in VHCOL. I have competing offers but recruiter says cannot go higher so I guess 350k is close to their upper band.
350k is can be achieved after career framework if the HM wants you and the org has the budget for it. Because the pipeline is full, you will not have much leverage because the HM has more than 1 person in mind if decline the offer.

Trump is a racist, misogynist and overall a scumbag
It’s a little bit unclear, but they revised the comp model after some troubles internally and externally. I got 350k offer last year but had a number of competing offers. If you don’t have competing offers they will not be budging, the pipeline is very full and I’d expect a midpoint offer - I can check the numbers later they’re open internally
I’m in the on-site stages with several other decently paying companies so hopefully I’ll have competing offers! Any insight would be great, can I follow up with you on the internal numbers later?
For L4 (technically L14 now because our new leveling system makes so much sense) The midpoint total compensation is 282, max of 440 but I haven’t heard of anyone getting close to that internally.
