Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Currently in Austin. Got an offer at Pittsburgh with 230k TC. I have around 3.5YOE. Basically it’s like a 80k salary bump so I am wondering if it’s worth it. How’s Pittsburgh and how’s COL?
Pittsburgh is very cheap you’ll be living like a king
I am guessing Google or Uber ATG? Can’t think of any companies that pays that in Pitts.
What about Facebook Reality Labs?
Also Duolingo
Rent is cheap, even in high-end neighborhoods. You can take public transit to any work and any social neighborhood. You can bike. There are reasonable food options though it's not a foodie city. Winter is cold, but not incredibly. It'll snow, but you might not need snow boots. Good tech companies, lots of robotics. I think it's worth it.
You must have not hit the good food spots or been around the last few years. Apteka, Spak Bros, Noodlehead are all insanely good and pushing boundaries
I didn't say there wasn't good food. But there isn't that much. If you do one different restaurant a week, you'll have tried all the good ones before long . Also, no dim sums.
Loved PGH. Best food in the country (vegan, greasy, fusion) imo and I’ve been around a bit. Cool vibe. VERY cheap to live there.
Which company?
