First, a little about my self. Im 20 years old and I am studying computer science at a second tier private uni. I started my search for an intenship this year and I was very desperate as I am graduating soon. I applied to many companies for swe but didnt get many calls back, so I decided to branch out and applied to some data analyst positions. Data analyst is still “technical” so I thought maybe it would boost my resume for the next time I apply to swe. Now cutting to the chase, I ended up taking a postion as a “data mining intern”, but the title does not reflect the work. I am currently only doing Manual data entry and it is driving me crazy. I have been here for 2 months so far and im not sure if I should quit. I feel as though I could spend this time grinding leet code and work on my tech interview skills. What do you guys suggest ? Thanks for the help :)
Try to ask how their infrastructure works in terms of the data solution. It could be in a form of a coffee chat with a junior or senior data scientist. You don’t want to walk away with just data entry knowledge. If you are interested in data scientist, show your interests and ask questions.
Think outside the box and propose ways to automate the manual entry process and have that in your resume?
