Post-Doc position at Sandia
Hi, I am considering a post-doc position at Sandia National Labs in the machine learning lab. Does anybody here know how the lab fares in terms of reputation compared to other industry labs says - Google Brain, FAIR, Adobe Research, IBM etc.. Also any comments on how it compares to ML at Amazon? TC: 250k #datascience #dataanalytics #researchscientist

I used to work at Sandia. I would advice against working there. Wayyyy too many politics. A lot of nepotism. Working with a lot of old tech. People who try to over complicate the problem because they think they're so smart.

Career goal: To work as research scientist and do slightly more fundamental ML / AI research (not tied to products). Research interests: optimization, distributed learning, large scale ml. Hoping to mould my career more accordingly during the postdoc (papers, collaboration with academia etc). What do you think?
