Do graduates from prestigious Universities feel entitled to product manager roles ? How come I never see product Managers from low tier schools ? I am talking about PMs at Uber , Lyft, snap, google, Facebook etc. Not Tata consultancy services Infosys, Wipro etc
It’s because the applicant pool is much larger for PM roles so there needs to be other filters. School is one.
What is lower tier? Anything not Ivy or Stanford? Lots of people work at those companies without degrees from the aforementioned
Plenty of my pm coworkers went to state school, me included
It's not that surprising

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
It’s quite common seeing PM’s predominantly come from prestigious universities. IMHO, the companies need to be held accountable about creating a fair playing ground around recruitment. Recently, facebook boycotted referrals for their RPM program which is a step in the right direction.
