Qualcomm --> Intel Product Engineer role

Y.o.e: 4 Current at QC SD: Level 1 Engg Base: 110k RSU: 17k (per last AR) Annual Bonus: 8-10% TC comes around: ~125k, expecting to increase on average after AR Offer from Intel, OR: Base+Bonus = ~138k Signing Bonus: 10k Restricted Cash Bonus: 30k (over 3 years) Pros for moving: Better WLB in the new team, opportunities to work on fab process Cons for moving: I like the beaches in CA 😅, moving kinda sucks, not sure where intel is headed as a company I would appreciate some insights if anyone has. Both roles are pretty similar in terms of technology/skillset. #hardware #semiconductor

Move to intel. Best WLB in entire tech industry. Egoistic Pat (CEO) will not fire any employees so safe as well.

Wait until the end of OCT.

Apple evil_hater Sep 25, 2022

@patmycat - are you referring about fake news of layoffs at intel in oct? No layoffs will happen. Pat is more egoistic than mark zuckerberg. Even though meta stock is down > 60% zuck is still hiring due to his ego of metaverse. Same for pat. He thinks building lot of new fabs and Ifs will turn around elephant intel.

If you’re already ready to move, why not consider the Bay Area. There’s lots more opportunity to move around there. Portland and San Diego are 1 company towns.

Very true. But I moved down to SD after working in Bay Area for 2 years. It for sure has a lot more to offer in terms of companies, but I kinda felt the tech culture was slightly more toxic if that makes sense. But that's definitely my own opinion/experience on it. But I'd definitely consider it at this point.
