I've got offers from Amazon and Dropbox and currently paid well at Qualtrics. The offers to leave are slightly better. Dropbox is pre-IPO - like Qualtrics. Amazon is Amazon. (Note all Seattle). Qualtrics is great. Great culture and impact. Amazon has flexibility (can work remote and travel, which is highly appealing.. but amazon). Dropbox offers opportunity and impact as well but not sure about thief growth and innovations compared to Qualtrics. My interviews were good (I got offers) but didn't sell me heavily. Any Dropbox or amazonians who can add insight?
What level did you interview for at Amazon? Dropbox seems like a cool opportunity. How was their offer?
L6 (non eng). It's good but big benefit is stock is liquid once vested vs the others who may or may not IPO in next few years.
Do you lose your Qualtrics stock if you leave before IPO?
Why do you want to leave Qualtrics? You understand the company better than I do but as an external view, I would suggest stay. I like Qualtrics's founders, good financial, positive cash flow, high profile VC, etc. I believe it will IPO soon?
+1 it's where I'm leaning and your right on all those points.. but grass is always greener.
How is this even a comparison?
How are you guys doing? DBX looks way too overvalue. + new Debt Financing round recently, not IPO anytime soon? Your engineering team is awesome though! Great place for learners.
Good to know! Sorry for making assumptions. I was told by recruiter earlier that Dropbox reached $1B. So $10B valuation seems reasonable.
DB = food
I would like to know about Qualtrics. On the surface, it looks like just a corporate survey company. Does it justify the valuation? I see them hiring a lot. Is this a good sign for IPO? What happens to your stock if you leave now? Is there any other comp than base and stock (eg annual bonus)? Growth other than survey area?
Dude you got to share the offers you received.
op, what do you want to know about dropbox? This is not even a fair comparison but please ask.
This is useless without offer terms. For example, take dropbox equity and cut it in half. Take amazons and increase by 25%. Is dropbox still ahead? If so, it's worth considering. I bet it's not...

Amazon lets you transfer internally whenever you want. So if your team ends up being a bad fit, you can easily find someplace new. What team did you get an offer from?
