Have my onsite scheduled for next week for a non-eng role with GCP. Been prepping for the dreaded GCA interviews, and wondering if they ask detailed questions about Google Cloud. Should I take the time to study GCP in-depth (I already know the basic offerings and competitive landscape) or focus my prep on GCA?
I am also Salesforce, and also interviewed for non-eng role for GCP, Success Manager. I was not impressed as I was grilled extensively on essentially running a project plan. I told Google that’s not what a success manager should be doing. Rather, this should be a Success Plan / Business Value at the Dir / VP+ levels. Gave me pause as to how Google views the role of a success manager. I know they will find their way, and I was initially interested to possibly join in these early stages for GCP Customer Success. But for me this was still too immature. Good luck!
Thanks! Interesting to hear that about their SM role, that’s really odd. I’m curious to see whether I also get questions that seem strange. We shall see!

How are you prepping for the GCA loop? I am in the same boat.
GCA questions are totally out of my league 😅 so I’ve been focusing on frameworks that can be used to structure consulting case solutions... to help me cover all the relevant bases. At least I’ll have something to say instead of just blinking confusedly and saying I don’t know.
So to answer my own original question. I didn’t get any questions about Google Cloud in particular. Also after going through the GCA round I don’t think there’s really anything I could’ve done to prepare for it. Just tried to keep my cool and avoid rambling. We’ll see how it went eventually.
Which role did you interview for?
Program Manager
Did you nail the job?
Hi @cpqueen, what was the result of ur interview?
What is GCA? What role are you applying for?
General cognitive ability. The questions that ask you to solve for a situation with little detail provided so they can see how you think. Program manager role.
