Quicken Loans ASWE Offer
I’m converting from a SWE Intern to Associate SWE at Quicken Loans. Salary: $65k No sign on bonus. RSU’s got given out like a month ago during the IPO but I was an intern still so I missed out.. I think there’s performance bonuses throughout the year but I’m not sure how much. This is a good offer for entry-level right? Location: Midwest #offer #tech
It's very average but depends on the market where you live. Most people on here are biased to be working at the big name super high paying companies in VHCOL areas. In the Midwest you'll be more limited outside of a big city like Chicago but if you look around you could still find something 80k-90k probably at entry level. That being said I took on less at my first job and am now making over double and looking for yet another huge jump.
How long did it take to double?
A little over 2 years. Could have done it sooner but I wasn't that well aware of my market rate. Now about 2.5 years at my current job and I'm nearly doubling my TC again all while staying in a low cost area.
This is decently low for Detroit. I started at StockX with 100k base, stock options worth like 150k over 4 years, and 10k in bonus/reimbursement. I know StockX, amazon, Argo, may mobility, autonomic, cruise, ground speed, and a few others will pay much better than QL.

Node/Typescript and Go 100% cloud native AWS + kubernetes Postgres/MySQL/Mongo/dynamo/Kafka/Redis are some of the storage systems and message brokers.
QL doesn't have any set standards. Either you negotiate with a counter offer or get the lowest offer they believe you'll grab. I've seen engineer getting paid $120k and also sr engineers who are paid $90k
Completely agree with this. I joined as Associate SWE after internship and got offered 85k base.
For LCOL it's not an amazing offer, but not horrendous. I would def shop around and see if you can get a better offer.
