How much relocation does Capital One give? Is it cash or strictly cost reimbursement or option for both?
I know there’s a signing bonus.
10-15k cash + movers (upto 100K) + closing cost + seller fee(if you’re currently a house owner)
Does the sign-on vest immediately? Is there a clawback ie. pay it back if you leave within a year
Sign on requires a year of work before 100% vested
Relocation will have a clause for 1 to 2 years.
That's weird. What about sign-on bonus? What's the clause there?
Same dude- if a company is giving you sign on and relocation to join there will always be some clause, every FAANG has it!
I believe they have actually changed from giving pure cash to using a relocation service. You get tokens that can be used on services such as movers, buying new furniture, groceries, flights etc. and it should vest over 1-2 yrs in increments. Sign on has one year vesting (unless this is offer dependent). This is based on my recent offer so could differ for other new hires.
I've received a lump sum for my relo -- around $20k tax free. Supposedly quarterly prorated payback if leaving within 2 years.
What do you mean by tax free? Did Capital One pay the tax and you got 20K after the gross-up?
Yep.
I don't remember the exact figure, but my friend in product was given cash to spend as needed. I think it was 10-15k.
