What’s everyone using to purchase crypto assets? I see robinhood doesn’t charge a fee, but the downside is you can’t transfer your crypto assets outside of robinhood. Any other disadvantages of using robinhood over Coinbase? #personalfinance #investments
Neither. Use kucoin or something else.
Or kraken.
Also check the spread which masks fees.
That’s rich coming from Coinbase. RH spreads are non-existent. They’re almost stock-like spreads, like 0.1%, regardless of amount. Meanwhile Coinbase ends up being like 1-3% 🙅♂️
On Coinbase you should really use Pro where the spreads are often a cent.
Lol Robinhood has no explicit fees* (they just increase the spot price)
Terrible take from Coinbase because Coinbase fees are 10x Robinhoods. RH spreads are non-existent. They’re almost stock-like spreads, like 0.1%, regardless of amount. Meanwhile Coinbase ends up being like 1-3% 🙅♂️
Coinbase makes these fees way more explicit and doesn’t rely on shading marketing around “no fees” to trick users. Plus if you’re really fee sensitive you’re better off using our Coinbase Pro product, where the fees are 10x smaller and you have access to more order types and advanced trading UI.

Not your keys. Not your coins. Buy on coinbase pro for cheaper fees and transfer to a hardware wallet.
Yeah and then lose your hardware wallet one day and lose all your money. Crazy that people are more distrustful of an insured company and software like Coinbase and would rather hold their money in something that can be thrown out in one day by your wife.
You can recovered lost hardware wallets with a recovery key.
