I always wonder what's the real catch here,, the way I see it is that no state tax is there but that's very less in overall tax picture, can someone elaborate the other benefits?
Catch is property tax rates and sales tax rates are higher probably. But you still come out ahead when you factor in COL overall + great sunshine/warm weather year round if you're not into snow etc
I wouldn't call Austin weather great with 3 months of 95F+. SoCal weather is great, not TX. You pay for it though.
Agreed but I don't mind the 3 months of heat in Dallas with mild temps rest of the year. Much lower COL than SoCal and it beats Houston!
