Question about women in their 30’s?
I recently got an offer for a Senior Analyst position at Wayfair. The role is out of Boston and they have currently offered 90k with no stock option but they provide relocation assistance of 5k. How much can I ask since Boston can expensive. Need your thoughts #hiring #jobopening
90k including bonus or no
Excluding
I don't work at Wayfair, but this seems extremely low to me. Not sure where you'd be coming from, but know that you're looking at close to ~$3k/month for a decent apartment in Boston/Cambridge (assuming you don't want roommates as somebody old enough to be a senior titled person).
What world do u live in? Seems lavish. One can get an apt 1 bed room for 1.7k. I don't know how people spend so much money on rent because they don't want to hunt for good deals. Or maybe it's just that I am brown and I don't leave money on the table. Smh
The good deals generally come with compromises. I'm with you, but it doesn't sound bad to have very modern kitchen, have the place ready to host easily, invite people over after work. For some people the "luxury apartment" bullshit is very valuable and for the location you just won't get that for that big of a deal
Ask for more relocation (10k) as well as base (min 100k + bonus). Negotiate. Boston is expensive if you plan to rent apartments that have basics like laundry in unit and is a newer renovated apartment.
My only worry is that if I ask too much they would retract the offer ( just the General fear). I also have another offer which is remote and pays 90k. I don't have state tax so i think I can ask. All they are possibly going to say is no, right?
Depends if you are okay with not working at Wayfair and the other company you have offer with is better. If that is the case then i would ask for sure.
They will not retract. Ask for $100k base and worst case they will give you more sign on. Base is more important, ask for it
Don't join Wayfair! Leverage this offer to get raise at current firm. Also, it seems too low but plausible for Wayfair. I know people working for lower comp than this at the same position.
What level? I assume an L1 or L2 role because no equity.
Senior Analyst. What level is that?
On what team, BI?
YOE? 90k is below the median for L2 band (Senior Analyst).
Wayfair recently switched to an all-cash compensation model for new L2 hires
What does an all-cash compensation mean?
No stocks given out to Senior Analysts (L2), only cash.
How many years of experience? Can you interview for L3 roles?
Update: I tried negotiating but there was apparently no room for negotiation and had all of my requests rejected. Think i don't break even after the move. So thinking hard now.
Stay in the LCOL that is Florida.
Say no to Wayfair. You’ll thank me later. Then you’ll thank me again.
Lol. Let me ask you this. On the contrary, can I use this job offer to ask for a raise in my current company?
Yes you can, tell them how much you want to stay but this offer is tempting.
