I’m seeing that salesforce culture is not what it used to be based on comments on other posts. Curious if anyone is in marketing at salesforce and can share what it’s like? I’m debating accepting a role there. TC: 155k
Don’t move for the culture as it likely won’t be any better or different. It isn’t terrible but 70-80% also said they would take another role if offered similar or more money
If you are going to work on core codebase then think. Otherwise ok
Marketing thinks they can do anything at the company their way. The culture sucks and has changed. Be ready to make sure to build connections and that your higher ups like you if you want to keep your job.
Heard a lot about culture here, so I joined. It's been a year and I can't wait to get out. It's toxic. The tech is pre historic. Working on core is soul crushing and middle management is always passive aggressive. I have been contemplating taking a pay cut to get out of here.
It is hard to say as Salesforce is a huge company with many teams. To be transparent, it is a hit and miss, and things went south fast after this year’s layoff. A lot of times, it is a matter of luck. I won’t join if I know for sure the hiring team is totally awesome.
A lottttt of politics, relationship building to be the favorite while doing no actual work and losing your technical skills.
I would say the work is boring and pre history. Nothing innovative or fancy. Nepotism is a big problem. Pay is okay but definitely not tier 1-3. That being said, if I get the same TC but more interesting work, I will jump immediately.
Its not what it used to be but its still better than most companies out there. If you getting a TC bump and are happy with it, don’t overthink it and welcome aboard!
+1 No guarantee that others are any better, so follow the money if it comes down to it
