Salesforce vs Amazon culture?

Thinking of switching to WFH company. Is there a AWS team within salesforce? How are culture and money?

SAP anoymous Mar 14, 2021

Salesforce is not good techy place. Most are maintenance stuff and wlb is also bad

Salesforce 33dss24sf Mar 14, 2021

Lol said the one in SAP. WLB is way better than Amazon while tech is a hit or miss depending on the team.

Go to Salesforce if you want to chill. Pay and tech will take a hit compared to Amazon.

SAP anoymous Mar 14, 2021

exactly it has full of maintenance work. not good for hard code techie

NoT true at all. For LMTS it might be more or equal to Amazon equivalent level

Not sure if SAP has worked at either or maybe he was just on an ops team at SF. But I left AWS for Salesforce and can say the comp is better, wlb is better, benefits are better, tech is mostly better (depends on the team). Overall, I’d recommend Salesforce. Btw most of all the teams at SF now build on AWS, with the exception of some ops focused teams.

@bugbuck. Curious. Do you think you can still leverage your AWS reputation for the next gig? What about variety and switching teams at Salesforce?

Amazon bigbuck Mar 17, 2021

@colgate I certainly think I could leverage my AWS experience and reputation if needed for interviewing, but that said, the longer I work at Salesforce, the less important my AWS experience might become. But Salesforce has been great I don’t plan to jump ship anytime soon. Within Salesforce, the possibility and opportunity to switch teams and move around is definitely there. It’s encouraged to stay with a team for at least one year, but there are internal career fairs twice a year that allow you to look at other teams and/or roles you might be interested in. The nice thing is managers can’t block the move like they do at Amazon haha

It really depends. In sales - you’d almost certainly would make more at AWS vs Salesforce from what I’ve gathered. Can’t speak for other departments
