Tiger vendors are treated well at The Hartford. Do you know which area? I had a tiger data scientist on my team who had the same responsibilities and expectations as any other employee.
I have joined operations and visualisation team. They are more into building Tableau dashboard by creating views, no data engineering works as such.
For just Tableau that tc. That’s cool
Stick with the tiger analytics who sponsored to come here for a while. He also gave you good package and look forward . You will get multiple like UHG like offer so just be patient and follow work ethics
Tiger Analytics didn’t sponsor me to come here. I reached US with spouse visa and searched for the opportunities here. I have been interviewed for Azure Data Engineer position but now my work involves only working in Tableau dashboards and little bit of snowflake. That’s the main reason I am considering to make a change or not.
@dstnct, what is your position at Tiger Analytics? I mean DE/Senior DE etc etc?
United WLB can be good but pay increases are 1-2% and bonuses weren’t that high
UHG .....then switch again.
I joined Tiger Analytics last week, if I quit now will there be any impact on my future job switch?
If you want peace, you can switch to UHG. Nothing will affect your future job search.
The fact that you joined a company and want to quit a week later means you have no morals. So the answer is it doesn't matter. You won't last long in the industry
My actual JD for offered position is different from what work has been assigned to me, isn’t that out of moral?
OP - don’t even listen to this nonsense. If you are a serial quitter then yes, that is immoral and will eventually affect you professionally. But if you really think you found a better job then there’s no reason to stick things out just out of a sense of obligation… it’s not like Tiger would keep you if Hartford terminated their contract. I recently had a similar situation. I worked at Bank A for 15 years before I switched to Bank B. Two weeks later I got a much better offer at Wells, which I accepted. Yes, I felt bad telling Bank B they had to start their hiring process all over again, but it was what it was… was I supposed to leave $30k/yr and a more recognizable name for my resume on the table just because I’d accepted a different offer first? I don’t think so.
In your shoes most important is H1B stability. Second is pay / growth depending on your situation. For this reason choosing a product company is better. Chances of growth are also better with product company as compared to service. Minor differences in salary should not be a factor at all Good luck my friend.
Thanks for your valuable advice!
Damnn only working in Tableau Dashboards is helping you make 150k. I need to learn Tableau Asap
Where did he mention he is only working with tableau?
You moved to Seattle without H1B? Do you mean transfer filing?
My visa status is L2S
Good luck getting the H1B ...
