Signing Bonus
i got laid off end of October. Now i’m in a process to get hired. i want to ask for a signing bonus before I sign the offer. what reason i should give for signing bonus? i had mentioned that i got laid off at the interview. any suggestion?

Ideally competing offers, but I don’t think you need a specific reason to state your desired compensation IMO. Say something to the effect of getting a sign on XX would go a long way is securing your financial health and reiterate your excitement about the company/role.
Get another offer and negotiate for sign on bonus
