I have an offer in hand for a Solution Engineer role at a company that runs many data centers. I can work remote which is what I want. I have been self employed for 15 years and have 30 years exp in IT. I don’t have a lot of certs or anything but I have a large wealth of experience from everything to servers, infrastructure, web dev, AWS cloud, Dev Ops and management. TC 140k + $15k bonus. It doesn’t feel great. I am an old fart these days about 52. I’ve been director level at several small companies of 150 or less employees. I need a more challenging role but not sure my exp attracts the big bucks. Company is not rackspace but similar.
