Try to understand if SpaceX equity is worth it. Bloomberg offer: 325TC ( 245 base, + bonus), no stocks, 20K sign-in, relocation SpaceX offer: 240TC (175 base+ 65K stocks), relocation. Want to work at SpaceX, but it is more emotional than rationality. Current TC 165K Yoe: 9 years #engineering #software #swe #spaceX #bloomberg
I would wanna launch rockets but Bloomberg is extremely sustainable during downturns
Not voting for SpaceX due to TC, but it is also very stable. They’ve a multi-year contract with the US government for missions to the Moon & possibly Mars. It’s cheaper NASA for The US gov + world wide Wi-Fi(expanding) + private flights.
Seriously. Bloomberg is a good job but choosing Bloomberg over Space X is like the definition of insanity to me.

I mean spacex will most likely be a trillion dollar company one day but it's your call if you wanna work that hard.
SpaceX is a ton more work every day for less money ultimately. It’s unlikely you outlast your initial grant there and fully vest it, most people burn out before then. It will definitely be valuable equity, but is it worth it is the question? It’s not like you’re getting in at a great valuation, they’re already massive.
Assuming it's valued at around 100b right now that's still a pretty good valuation if you hold for 10-15 years. There's little doubt that SpaceX becomes a trillion+ at this point unless something crazy happens like Musk losing his vendor security clearance.
Yeah spacex still has 10x upside easy, it's just a question of tradeoffs with wlb.
Humans are irrational beings
I understand the sentiment, I also had a spaceX offer that was lower than all my other ones. Feel like you could’ve gone more equity, I got ~$45k/yr. Go Bloomberg. You’ll be in NY too which is so much better for commuting to work vs SpaceXjj in Hawthorne (you will need a car in LA)
LA sucks
Wow I always thought Bloomberg paid peanuts 🥜 according to ppl on Blind
Nope, even new grad packages start at 200k and over
SpaceX is changing the world for the better. Has an exciting roadmap.

Wouldn't want to work for Musk as he mentally implodes in the public eye but assuming he doesn't some how blow SpaceX security clearance as CEO then that equity is going to be worth a hell of a lot more long term. The US government is going to be relying on SpaceX heavily in the future. It can only go up.
