Base: $180K Bonus: 15% RSU: $56,400/yr TC: $263,000 5+ years of experience of working in applied machine learning + PhD in applied maths. I feel they are low balling. Any input?
A quarter of a million is lowballing with 5 years of experience? GTFO.
The guy has a phd in machine learning too. That’s definitely low balling when new grads can early 250 k tc, easily
My PhD is in applied maths.
Which city is this in?
This is in Bay Area.
This is a good offer. Economy is stagnant. Job market is feeling a labor shortage pinch. You’ll want to be in a position where your resume has big ticket line items on it. Not job hops every 6-9months. Speaking as a senior DS joining a Big Four....
It is a good offer (2000 RSU) that pegs your TC above the median. If you perform, current refresher is around 1000 shares at focal review time, which will bring your TC close to 300K in 2nd year.
Are you a DS at Splunk as well?
Decent base for P4, RSU slightly lower than avg due to the recent adjustment in base price for RSU. Not a low ball, but you should shoot for 290k for a decent P4 offer
Just wondering what is the content of work for "applied machine learning"? And how is it different from machine learning algorithm/model research?
Refer to Quora, very detailed answers.
It’s a good offer. It will be hard to negotiate if no competing offers. Which team?
