My entire cliff is gone since we have an idiotic 6-8 week trading blackout window. CFO keeps saying we’re doing fine. Stock went from 200 to 87 today. Thoughts? Can we fire the CFO? Even after you leave you can’t sell
Definitely dodged a bullet
FWIW, your CFO may not be wrong. This drop isn’t just about Splunk.
Half is good, other companies lost 75-85%
I got RSU grants at 250 after joining last year in Dec. The stock price today is 90
Welcome
For most tech companies the fundamental business model didn't actually change, so the stock price tank is just market speculation and traders playing dangerous games. Your CFO might be right. Keyword is most companies... Some are probably doomed
Should easily get to 50-60 after earning 🔮
No company is safe, AMZN is at $2100 almost to pre-pandemic price 😭
How does taxes work in such cases. If I got 300 RSUS at $200 and it tanks to $100 do I still pay taxes at $200 rate?
You get taxed at income rates when they vest so if they vested at $200, you owe the tax, even if you don’t sell and hold. That’s my impression others pls chime in
OMG, so if you vested at $200 and the stock tanks to $50 you still pay tax on $200.
