Square/Block: Passed panel but did not receive offer?
I interviewed with Square a week or so back… then got reached out to by recruiter saying feedback was very positive but that the hiring manager changed so they want me to interview with the new hiring manager. Recruiter reached out to me next day saying that I did very well with interviews and got leveled at L4, but they decided they wanted to hire an L5 candidate for this role. He said that if I found other positions at Square/Block I wouldn’t have to do the #swe full loop again, but didn’t say he had any other teams or positions he could introduce. He asked me to look at what positions I would be interested in on Square’s website and let him know. Does Square/Block not have anything like Team match? How should I go about trying to be considered for another role? Or maybe they are just rejecting me nicely and I did not really do that well on the panel? If anyone at SQ/Block knows of L4 openings, let me know! TC ~120K

It's hard to find an offer at Square for L4. Most teams are looking for L5+
Thank you this is a helpful insight. Are there any areas that would be most likely to be open to L4? Either by business unit (Square, Cash App, etc) or by type of role?

Comb through the job openings and send him any of the roles that sound interested and on par with your experience.
Has happened with me in past with Square. Company takes no liability, just move on.
Sorry, not exactly sure what you mean by “Company takes no liability”. Are you saying they just tell everyone that lol? That would seem like a weird and inefficient policy
They will say looking for another team or position is on hold etc and never come back to you with an offer
