I remembered Stripe "Staff level" was the most attractive one. Especially for engineers that feel they could be Senior Staff material, but couldn't prove it, or who have been outside big companies and worked at startup for couple of years. Now Stripe Staff Level is around 450 TTC, which is what one could get at a company like Capital One, except that you get something that's immediately liquid. How are people thinking about it? TTC: 530k YEO 15 #tech
Staff is L4 at Stripe. Until last year, Stripe L3 offers were 500k+ with up to 250k base. Sucks for new applicants s
Yup started interviewing for L4, have the final round, now I know it’s lower than Distinguished Engineer at capital one
Yup sucks for new hires, but they get stock at a discount
Down round is not getting discount
Not sure what that means
L2 offers are 220k | previously it used to be 250-300k L3 offers are 280-350k ( upper end for people with more yoe downlevelled) | previously it used to be 380-460k It’s just one of many other fintech company getting hammered in this economy
Can confirm, I got an L2 offer a few months ago (remote) and it was somewhere around 230k TC
What are you counting in TC for L3? Just salary and ARG? Or with bi us also?
Has the pay range been slashed by x% across the board ?
Overall new offers are down by 20-30% where RSUs are almost slashed down by 40-50%
Yeah off the list of companies I am considering, they pay pretty trash compared to other tech companies now especially when factoring in wlb.
What are the others? I am struggling to get interview
What are you looking for public or private?
Staff Level at C1 isn't available. Generally Sr. Lead SWE is considered "staff", but it isn't anything close to 450k.
Distinguished Engineer at 450
Distinguished enginner is staff level, possibly Sr. lead too, but definitely not Lead. And yes in NY/SF locations they get 450K or so. More like 400K at McLean
