Switching Auto Insurance - When to cancel old policy?
I switched to a new company and policy effective Aug 1st 12:01 AM per the policy doc. When exactly should I cancel my OLD policy? Is it safer to do it with some overlap, say Aug 2nd? Or should it be done July 31st midnight at exactly 0000Hours? I live in CA.

Don’t drive without insurance
You can schedule the cancellation of your policy beforehand. You don’t pay for the insurance you don’t use. i.e if you tell insurance A that you want to be covered until Aug 1, then they would cover you on Aug 1. If you tell insurance B that you want the coverage to start from Aug 2, then you would be covered on Aug 2.
