Should we care about either other than nominal passive support? Taiwan is of more strategic interest and importance than Ukraine. We’re being distracted from what’s important and what’s of most value. Let’s use tech-speak; there’s some really goofy product roadmaps being developed that engineering and development teams are having no say in. Executives are going nuts and the CTO doesn’t have a meaningful technical background. Sprint planning is showing all sorts of crap but no one wants to speak up because the pay is good and they have a job. Some are leet-coding for their next jump, but in the end the customers will suffer and the product will flop.
US has more strategic importance to China than we think. Why do so many Asians move here ! So they won’t say but they would take care of Taiwan for us. Ukraine is useless yet because we have a habit of always helping Europe we are entangled in this mess. America should be done with Europe for good. Their problems are theirs. Let them settle out themselves.
China hasn’t invaded Taiwan yet but Russia is already invading Ukraine.
Taiwan is a lost cause. China doesn’t need to invade it. Putin is desperate and dangerous.
The Democrats have serious financial interests in Ukraine. Otherwise, why go through the trouble of setting up a puppet state? Why would Biden have a personal interest in who their prosecutors are? Why did his son have a $50K+ per month no show job there? Why run the Ukraine impeachment hoax?
Why Taiwan or Ukraine? Both will end up sharing the same fate. China is just watching to see what we do about the Ukraine invasion (nothing) before proceeding with their long term goal of invading Taiwan. If we had a stronger response (such as immediately incorporating Ukraine into NATO, and providing military support) then Russia and China would back down.
Incorporating Ukraine into NATO is like declaring war on Russia. NATO probably can’t win a prolonged war against Russia on Ukraine soil. So I hope US/NATO is not that stupid. China doesn’t need to invade Taiwan. When US influence fades Taiwan will just peacefully surrender.
If Taiwan can survive the next decade or so then will be fine. The next generation in Taiwan is strongly anti-China (green party) and hostile to eventual unification. And the next generation in China will produce a smaller labor force due to collapsing birth rate. China will soon go into decline and need to focus on domestic problems.
What Taiwanese think don’t matter. It depends on whether China or US goes into decline first. It’s not like anybody cared about what Ukrainians think right now.
This is such foolish thinking. If China stops growing it will need other things to keep itself busy. Look at what Russia is doing now. Russia has very little to lose and can just do what it wants at this point. If China becomes the same we may well be staring at armageddon.
We have bombs too, my friends. And nuclear weapons and long range missiles. I bet US will do nothing just as now.
This is the result of too much microdosing. Chill on that bro.
Fair.
