I am currently a data scientist with an MS stat and no sw eng experience. I’d like to move to a more technical role, eventually doing SWE/machine learning engineering. I was just admitted to tandons MSCS program and waiting on a few more. Goal is to get CS on my resume and formalise my coding experienced, potentially doing better in getting recruiters attention. Thoughts? TC 140 YOE 2
Would be easier (and less money) to go to a startup (or another company if you can’t do that at your current one) doing data science and then transfer to a swe role. MSCS does not guarantee a swe and especially a ML role

Just start coding yourself, and interview after leetcode seriously MS is a joke unless you have no technical background. Go get industry experience instead of those 2 years
My problem is recruiters won’t even look at my resume without the CS or relevant experience
