It's a new year and you know what that means: an annoying updated ranking post. 0: Hooli, Pied PIPer, Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Safeway 1: Google, Meta, Netflix, Airbnb, Square, Cash App, Snap, Stripe, Databricks 2: Apple, Twitter, Roblox, LinkedIn, Coinbase, Robinhood, Asana, Dripbox 3: Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Lyft, Slack, Palantir, Reddit, GitHub 4: Microsoft, Amazon, Twitch, Nvidia, TikTok/Bytedance, Adobe, Salesforce, PayPal, Intuit, Shopify, Twilio, Spotify, MongoDB, Etsy 5: Cisco, Oracle, IBM, Chewy, Groupon, Grubhub, Disney Streaming, HBO Max, Walmart Labs Not going to rank Pins for obvious conflict of interest, someone else can chime in on that. And yes, this is a subjective list, hiring bar varies by interviewer. I've interviewed at most of the companies from 1-4, many of them multiple times. So yeah, it's not a perfect list and comments are appreciated. TC: 250k

I failed Dripbox twice. Lot of followups and you need to know concurrency.
Thats google too and literally 1/4 of the companies mentioned. Concurrency is fair game for any interview

Meta is Tier 2 or 3 for new grad now, easier than Amazon 3x45
The new grad bar is lower for all of big tech than ever before, including Google and Meta. Google and Meta are still much more difficult to get into than Amazon though...

I would put Square and Stripe at 3. Neither are difficult.
Yet, both didn't call me back when I was at google for the same exact role as I had.
Square wasn't hard, but that's because they don't always do leetcode, sometimes they do real coding. Which for someone that codes, is easier.
