Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Got a SWE offer from an established trading firm with a base of 160k and a Target bonus of 200k (negotiated harder on the bonus side). Obviously that's a large percentage as bonus, so I'm wondering how high the percentage increases are for exceptional performance at financial firms? Seems like some really good potential upside if it's 75-100%+. I'd be going onto a team with a super successful product as well, which I've heard is a plus for bonus. TC: 300K YOE: 6
Why are you leaving cruise?
Not for sure leaving. It's a fine place to work, but the whole self-driving industry has stagnated a bit.
What’s your speciality/field?
cloud architecture/infrastructure primarily -- usually somewhere between a SWE and an SRE.
Obviously this is a citadel offer. It's not an "established trading firm" it's a market making firm or an asset management firm depending on which business.
Which is better?
Be prepared to lose all 200K as well as the job too if the performance is not up to the par. Successful products have stressful work lives usually.
You should get a guarantee for 1 year. Make sure that the word "guarantee" (not target or indicative) is in your offer letter.
Whcih firm pls
