I’m in the beginning stages of the interview process for Apple as a mid-level UI/UX Designer. I have finished the recruiter screen and the hiring manager interview screen. The weird thing is that they couldn’t quote me a salary range as there is no level for this position. I was told that I have to undergo a few interviews first, then the hiring manager would determine what level I should be placed at. Then after knowing my level, I would be given a salary range. #design #interviews #ui/ux Is this normal for Apple’s hiring practices? Also, does anyone have an idea of what the salary range would be for this position? TC: 🥜
That’s normal if you’re coming from outside tech. I may be able to ballpark your level. How many years of experience do you have and what group are you interviewing for?
YOE: 7 in gaming. Im currently at Netflix Games, so I guess that’s kiiiinda considered being in tech? They won’t exactly tell me what group I would be in, they’re keeping it very secretive.
They should match and exceed your comp at Netflix. Check levels.fyi for IC3 to IC4 or ICT3 to ICT4 minus about 20%. Most orgs pay a premium for software engineering over design, though there are a few exceptions.

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
Try asking the question in a poll with degrees of salary ranges. Ask your other HR question in a separate post. …and yes, Apple HR is a hot mess. Don’t let it put you off though.
Ah good call about having a poll. Yeah I figured HR was being a mess lol
