1 vs 5 Million - no lifestyle change
Is it just the base you are talking about or the overall compensation? And how much base should I target?
140-185 base, depending on your past experience, etc etc
This
When say pay you need to distinguish between your base salary and paper money you get on top of it. Including the paper money senior 1 should be getting north of 400k per year. I know people who are even getting much more then that.
400k is on the higher side. I would say 280k plus.
I guess the range is very big. But I was one of the person who was like I want the best salary and the best stock I can get possibly. My interview was excellent (at least that is what I thought) and I was very happy at Apple anyway ... so I took my chances.
When you say 300K plus what does it include? And what does base alone look like? I'm not sure how to value Uber equity right own
No one knows for sure. Uber valuation at IPO would be a big surprise either fall badly or go up crazy imo. So that is just gamble.
So basically you are saying that even though it's money on paper, every dev who worked with Uber for 3-4 years is already a millionaire? That's not bad..
Yes. But again you only get cash when it IPO which is very frustrating. Technology is changing so fast ... Uber clearly is leader in the space but 2-5 years from now I don't know
quTu its not bad at all. There's some risk+delay but uber packages account for that by being higher than other packages. If you can tolerate risk and delay Uber is a great option. even now.
