Hi Folks, Have 2 offers. Uber and Adobe. Uber L4 - TC 65 L - 45 Base Adobe CS 1 - TC 56L - 34 Base I stay with my parents' at a tier 2 city and want to stay in WFH set up as long as I can. My current location is 5 hrs drive from Adobe Noida office whereas will have to relocate for Uber to Bangloree. Which org will have more probability in my case to extend my WFH or call me like once or twice a month? On one hand I am attracted to Uber's dynamic culture and attractive compensation on the other hand due to my medical condition right now, I wanna settle for WLB in Adobe with job security. I am young and feel like this is the time for hustle but fear that my body is not in the state right now. Help me? Any advice will be good advice :) I have tried negotiating with Adobe's recruiter. Although she says that she has given me the compensation as much as she could but she is not trustworthy and I have read couple of posts on Blind about Adobe's CS1 and I feel I am really lowballed here. Adobe's recruiter has told me that if I dont like the offer then I can decline this. Should I decline it and take a risk that she might come back with a better number? As she convinces me desperately about how Adobe>Uber. Blabber too much on phone with her personal stories about why I should join Adobe and blah blah. So, need help with 2 Qs- 1)Which org will have more probability in my case to extend my WFH or call me like once or twice a month? 2)Should I decline Adobe's offer on their portal and take a risk that she might come back with a better number? Or will it backfire? Sorry for the long post! Current TC - 33 Yoe - 6 Role - Data Engineer Update : Joined Uber #uber #adobe
Adobe serverly low balled. Negotiate for TC 70lpa 37base 20lpa rsu i.e. 100k$ Even there are offers of 40L base at CS1 Consider getting min ~0 hike in full year in Feb as well
Show Uber offer to Adobe, it will make 70L
I have already shown Uber's offer to Adobe. This is the max recruiter is saying they can go which is 56 😑. Should I take the risk to decline the offer on portal only hoping that she will come back with better number?
Join Uber... i have known people who are working permanently WFH after approval from their managers. So you can join now and in 6 months - 1 year you can get WFH.
Better learning and growth at Uber compared to Adobe
Which team/org?
Uber - Maps Adobe - Information and data services
Join Uber, Adobe will give you CS2 90L TC after 1 year
I am cs2 making 60 lpc CTC including stocks
I think there's lot of pay inequality at Adobe at same level. I have a friend at CS2 with same comp as yours
much better growth aspects at Uber compared to Adobe. many of my teammates are permanent remote so don’t think it should be an issue at least for an year or so.
Ask yourself these questions.. Which of these two orgs is more stable and having products that makes profit? Do you think uber will ever make profit? How long they will last with the investment they have? How long they keep on burning investors money? If uber has to cut the cost what they will do first? Do you really need to take the risk on this kind of economic situation? If you got the answers to these questions, you know which company to join.
As far as wfh is concerned, Adobe India is really pathetic and strict about reporting to office. Although, they have agreed for WFH for this year but they will keep pushing you to join office once you join them and there are ways to pressurise mentally. If you are really looking for wfh, my advise won't be Adobe for sure.
Completely agree on this. Have seen this personally happening with few of my friends in different teams.
I would recommend Uber in this situation. Uber was offering Gurgaon as office location also. I had offer with Gurgaon as a location so sure about that. Been in Adobe for long. Work at Uber for one year and if you don't like switch to other companies like Microsoft, Adobe, sf etc at better position.
Uber is not offering me ggn. They are saying that I need to report in one of their technical sites which is Bangalore or Hyderabad.
Don't come to uber ☺️
Hi! Can you please help out with a reason? So that I can make a better conclusion?
Sinking ship basically. Don't know much about Bangalore/Hyderabad offices - but it is just bleeding money 🤑. On the wfh front, i don't think it is an option - i know for a fact that India offices have rto'ed already... Are they making an exception for you exclusively!?.. unsure how long will the HM be comfortable with this
