Hey Guys, I have tried looking for Uni's in US News and others, but wanted to hear from you guys on UNI selection. Due to 2020 covid fall admission deferral, majority of students of 2020 will be coming in 2021 making admission very competitive. I don't have a competitive profile, so I would settle for any decent rank UNI and work my way up from there. UNC Charloette - Easy to get TA/RA, majority of students get it SJSU - Heard SWE is good, but many say it's a mediocre college UNC Chapell hill, IOWA State, Purdue, OHIO State - Higher Rank ones that I will aim MIsc - ASU Appreciate if you guys could comment on it, your views would really help me :) decide shortlisting UNIs, if you know of any other decent UNIs please do comment. Thanks!
True about UNC Clt. SJSU is good since it has a location advantage and I have seen students get good companies. I would suggest to go through linkedin profile of students who are recently graduated or are currently studying. You will have an idea who gets into which internship and full time jobs. From UNC clt, around 10-15 percent students go to top companies.
Majority of students are not taking a gap year. At Harvard about 20% deferred, MIT 8%.. It will be more competitive but not drastically. Definitely shoot for Purdue, UNC, Texas A&M etc if your stats are more average
Chapel hill. During my hunting, i came to know that chapel hill is more focus in research
