Shopify life story interview
Just got a response from the recruiter after my initial interview with my manager and I will be having a "Life Story". How should I prepare for this part of the interview? What are some of the green and red flag they look for in this part?

Life is short, let's short SHOP
Life story is basically an asshole test, and to see if you have some passion outside of work. It's essentially a long conversation with a recruiter, not technical at all
What on earth is life story? Is this some twist on behavioral interview?
I can't say for sure since I haven't done mine yet. But in a nutshell, it is a one-hour session with the recruiter to dive deep into your upbringing, previous experience and side projects.
Lol. Sounds like a lame attempt to capture something similar to "googliness"
We seek people with a growth mindset (in contrast with a fixed mindset). Life story is where we want to know more about people while we look for pivotal moments of personal or professional growth in their lives. You could talk about times where a challenge or obstacle came in your way, and you made the necessary adjustments to make the most out of that situation or escape from a blocker. Be authentic, talk about what your passions are and what you care about. If you want to keep your personal life private, it's also okay, just talk about your professional life and what really motivated you to become the professional you are today.
Just had this interview. Was so much fun.
I wouldn't other than doing a pass through your resume and figuring out a way to tell a compelling story of your professional journey. Seems like a decent percentage fail this screen, so hopefully they do this for you first before wasting time with technical challenges.
What sort of questions should I ask towards the end of the life story interview?
I failed this interview twice 😅
1. How did you know you failed this interview? 2. Did you figure out why you failed?
First time, I heard back from the recruiter telling me I wasn't qualified... Second time, I was told that I don't have enough experience 😅 Honestly, not sure why I failed. Not much feedback was given. But yeah, I'm never applying again. Not worth the time imo
