4bhk, 2300 sqft, east bay, heat set to 69 all day. We got a whopping $590 bill for december. Wtf? We moved from a 1bhk to our new house in 2023, so this is drastic change in expense for us. Water is another $300. 🤡
3bhk townhouse. Some $250.
Townhouse gets the benefit of neighbors heating the place if you like it on the chillier side
gas heat op?
Yeah. I figure electric would be just as bad. Unless you have solar energy storage.
Is there any alternative to PGE in East Bay?
lol what sort of a question is this.
You can start a forest fire for alternative heating
I was paying $80-100 until last month and this month's bill shook me. It was $250 this time :( mine is 2bhk in east bay
We went from 300 to 590. Doesn't make any sense. I might be better off using a space heater and humidifier
Yup. Moved to space heaters and humidifiers after the natural gas rate debacle last year. My electric bill is 400 on average. Gas bill is 40. This is for a 5br in peninsula.
Between 100-200$. Why do you want to keep it ON all the time. We just turn it on for 30 minutes as and when required.
It’s effing expensive. Don’t want to look.
I have solar so it varies but ends up being a net credit back to me at the end of year
What was the capital for solar 25k-50k? To recoup that capital even with $500 bills every month, it would take 4-8 years.
5k for a 2bhk. Very small system 1.7kW; I never need to turn on lights due to the sunlight. All lights are dimmers and all appliances are energy efficient
Too expensive. They robbing us
Is water per month 300 or for 2 months?
2 months
That's not bad Do you have some front yard or back yard that gets watered?

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
I paid $870 last year :( My wife sets heat on 74 the whole house.
I would not be able to think if its at 74. We have a new baby at home so it's set to 69. Earlier we only turned on the heat on demand and never really set it to 69.
