Walmart in their job descriptions be like:

Flexible, Hybrid Work We use a hybrid way of working that is primarily in office coupled with virtual when not onsite. Our campuses serve as a hub to enhance collaboration, bring us together for purpose and deliver on business needs. This approach helps us make quicker decisions, remove location barriers across our global team and **be more flexible in our personal lives**. Check out this (USA) Principal, Software Engineer job at Walmart https://www.teamblind.com/j/h5WivOjOgy0ec_EWWUoJo ————— And what we mean by “be more flexible in our personal lives” is that we want software developers to move to places (without relocation bonuses ofc :)) where they have no friends or family in cities that are not desirable!! It’s such a great benefit! Therefore you can be more flexible in your “personal life” since you won’t have one in the middle of nowhere Arkansas or Texas ! Yay!! Or if u want a below average wage for Cali we got that too! Yipeeeee

Oh this is one of the teams that used scala and Akka and they talk about it as if it wasn't almost 15 year old tech. You are remote only if it benefits the company.

I’ve noticed that the sweet spot for getting an interview at Walmart for a remote mobile dev role is around the $50/hr range, but that’s pretty low pay for no benefits. I was submitted with a vendor for $65/hr but didn’t get an interview and I imagine there may be others who will accept less $$$

That's what the contractor gets paid, Walmart has rates set for every skill and level. The contracting companies always take a big chunk.
